6th Superbowl Birthday Party

This is a cake I did for a friend's daughter's 6th birthday. She was born on the superbowl - so her party this year was on the superbowl - she wanted a pink football cake :) So that is all I had to make sure to do - the football cake was a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream - and the sheet cake was half white and half choc. Cake pops to go with the cake were strawberry cake dipped in choc - YUM!

My Neices FIRST birthday

My neice Josie turned ONE this past January! I tried freehanding the swirlies on the side of the top tier - very easy and cute! My 8in. sq. almost didn't fit on my cake stand my kids got me for Christmas...but we made it work ;) I have realized I need to take better pictures of the cakes! Sorry about my messy kitchen in the backround!

70th Birthday for my MIL husband

My mother in law's husband recently turned 70 and loves cars.....actually has an old car and if I knew anything about them I would know the make/model....But I don't. So she had a car cake pan she wanted me to make a chocolate cake from - and just with buttercream icing and the star tip - which I had NEVER done before! So I dove right in, They loved it and that is all that matters!

This is a photo of his actual car he owns and fixed up - so we made the cake to match!

Baby shower cake

A baby shower cake for a family that had 8 GRANDDAUGHTERS before they got their boy!(The family actually got 2 boys the same month, fun times!) So, I saw this quote on a cake on Pinterest....and it fit quite nicely for this shower! The bow is made of a 50/50 fondant/gumpaste mixture and sprayed with an edible shimmer!

Brynn's 2nd Birthday

For my daughter's 2nd birthday - I got my new cake cricut - had to try it out!!! Did a western girl theme, pink camo, rope borders and some paisley!

This is the entire cake covered in camo - it was so pretty - but had to put the next tier on!

The top cake was a strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream, the bottom cake was a white cake with strawberry filling, and vanilla buttercream! I also used the edible white shimmer on the top tier, not sure if the picture gives it justice! It was "girly"!

Gender Reveal Cake

Fun Gender cake - it was BLUE! As a rush to get this done, the SEE set before I could move it - it is a little off line:/ - my tactful hubby wasn't home, he usually helps me line things up!!! Love him for that;)

My Boys Birthday - 2011

My boys turned 6 and 4 last fall and LOVE Ben 10. I really had NO CLUE what I was going to do for a cake for their birthdays......somehow in the wee hours of the morning ideas come to me - I guess I am like a writer?! LOL! So anyone that knows anything about Ben 10 knows of his jacket - It's green with the white lines down the side, a black circle with a 10 in them. So I just put my kids' ages instead! I had extra green batter(yes the cake was GREEN!) and just threw it in a pan so it wasn't wasted....turned out I used the extra cake for the Omnitrix that Ben wears on his wrist for the middle of the cake - the boys LOVED it - the aliens that Ben transformed into were bought on amazon - just plastic figures.....sorry didn't feel like making them with gumpaste, anyone who has the time/talent to do that has props from me! This ended up being one of the most fun cakes I have made!

A dear friends 40th Birthday

This cake was for a former co-worker of mine, she had a suprise 40th birthday party and I was asked to do the cake.....with black but elegant - not depressing. This is what I came up with after googling cake images! It was yummy and fun!

My Dad's 60th

My Dad turned 60 this last September. He raises Brittany Spaniels and hunts.....His party was supposed to be a suprise - But after mom told him to come to my house and get something, I couldn't really hide a camo cake in my kitchen - he found out! Oh well - the Party was a success and everyone loved the cake!

15th Birthday

Bright 15th Birthday for friends daughter. I made the strips to match the bow, and the curly ques coming out of the bow - to also come out of the roses on each side of the cake - it was fun and surely caught the eye of the teenage girls!

Our Nephew Zach's Graduation Party

My nephew Zach graduated last spring, I made 2 cakes - one for his high school and one for the university he was going to attend. Then I found a cute little treat of graduation caps, made from a Reese and choc. covered graham cracker and some white icing piped on as the tassel!

Two Finished products!

Finished probably at 2-3am......I am such a night worker!

The emblems for the cakes - TEDIOUS, but worth it. I was happy how they turned out. He ran in track in HS.

BIL 40th cake

This cake was for my brother in law - again a suprise 40th party! He is a sports nut, loving baseball, basketball and football - My husband came up with this saying on the cake that deemed appropriate for him!! And his wife absolutely loved it too! The entire cake was homade and edible!

Dessert cake

This was for my mom's birthday last year - swiss meringue buttercream - choc cake with fresh strawberry filling, and choc covered strawberries on top - it was DElish!

Practice fun cake

I got these new tappits, needed to practice, so hey, why not make a cake and take to work! My nurse friends loved the idea of tasting new recipies too - which i used for the cake and fondant :) They, I guess can be my guinea pigs for new recipies!

Christmas - Happy Birthday Jesus Cake

Every year our Family has a happy birthday Jesus cake - I wanted to practice covering my new square cakes with fondant - so I volunteered myself to make the cake - it was OK, good practice, but the kids all loved the manger scene! I ran out of time in the middle of the night to do letters, so I just used buttercream on the fondant, and bc my husband was sleeping, he didn't help me line up the letters! haha.

For my MIL

This was a birthday cake for my Mother in Law - the roses are fondant - everything is edible - this is one of my favorite cakes - just cute, and simple. The colors Popped with the dark choc. fondant!

My sister's baby shower

Did something simple yet elegant for her shower - I have learned much cuter bows since then But it did turn out cute - along with the edible pearls! (Sorry, messy Kitchen shot in backround again!)

Brock's 3rd Birthday

My first 2 tier cake - for my son's 3rd Birthday - He is such a dog lover(STILL is to this day!) I think my sister actually suggested doing dog bones as the borders of the cakes, Great idea! This choc fondant was made before I started adding candy melts to my fondant - that is why it is a lighter brown. We kept these dogs FOREVER......until they really fell apart - Brock played with them more than anything he got at his birthday!

Friends Birthday!

A cake I TRIED to mail to my best friend in Chicago.....I wish I had an "after" photo!!! The USPS didn't do so swell in the delivery....BOO!!! But going by tasts alone, my friend was still pleased!
